... one year in complete happiness, but had no memories of it afterwards, would you do it?

Define happiness. If you didn't remember it then what's the point? Maybe you already did spend a year in happiness and just don't remember it. But I would do it, sure.

Why experience constant happiness for a year and not be able to remember it. Memories define who we are, how our life has been and how we can make the changes and look to the future. All that will happen is you will age a year in a day and not have anything to show for it, if you cant experience it it wont affect you, if you cant remember it then you may aswell just go without

that's a good way to put it. without bad we really don't know how good good is. i think it's important to have a good balance of both.

Well seeing as though my main meaning of life is to be happy, then yes of course i would do it. What if i died sometime during that year? then i would have done the best with my short time that i could've. And if i did forget it afterwards, it doesn't stop me living in the moment, trying to be as happy as possible for as much as possible of my life. Memory to me would be secondary to time spent being happy.

Ultimately you wouldn't be happy.

because you can't live in the moment forever, you're bound to long for memories of hapiness, so instead of being clueless after your year of hapiness you live the year the best you can and you'll still get happy memories along with bad ones, but ultimately life isnt about being happy it's about everything, i think anyone would know that if they listened to the smashing pumpkins
