Last night i was finishing off my bottle of absinthe, phoned Amerika and unsuccefully tried to have a conversation and then got decidedly drunk, went down to the pub and watched a crappy band wreck some decent songs. So Justine and me walked up the road into town to a place that sells chicken cooked in grease with chips cooked in fat for 5 hours to give that ultra fatty taste when 3 guys walk past. At this time im wearing SP's 2000 tour T-shirt with the boy in the test tube on the front, but it's almost covered up completely, all thats on show is the boy in the test tube, and in small writing 'Smashing'. Each, in turn, shouted out 'Smashing Pumpkins', the 3rd guy stopped, shook my hand and asked if i had ever seen them. Grumblingly i said no, but i love the band, he said he's seen them twice (I'd be suprised if he was more than 2-3 years older than me), then said 'Why are you wearing their T-shirt if you've never seen them?', i just said i love the band, to which was replied 'You have some guts to wear the 2000 American tour T-shirt without even seeing them live'. So i shook hands with him and walked on. The little git, he knew it was SP from about 2x 10" view, and he named the exact tour its from. If i wasnt so drunk id of given him the board address

There's still love for the Pumpkins out there. The new issue of Spin has a pic of Billy in their most memorable rock photos of the past 20 years section. Also includes Kurt Cobain, Trent Reznor, Beck, and others. This is the pic of Billy they used.
