"Thich is a damn good author!" The book is ok... not one of my favorites... He talks about true peace, and meditation, and there are a bunch of metaphors... etc... I find he repeats himself.. not what I thought it was going to be. It was a gift, so I am trying to indulge... except that I've read a book since I've started it... I'll keep going though... You aren't the first person to tell me he is a great author.

You aren't the first person to tell me he is a great author. Sorry to hear about that. I hope you get into it ... I'll admit that it isn't exactly easy to choke down, but if you can - you will gain a lot from his writings. Stick with it. I would also reccomend The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron in addition to a Thich book. www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1570629218/qid=1095660712/sr=8-4/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i4_xgl14/103-8707139-1332664?v=glance&s=books&n=507846I don't know how or why, but they seem to compliment each other well. I read both books at the same time and they meshed well - making it easier to put the other one in perscpective. Just a suggestion

I've been meaning to read it for a year now or so... and I've got some time... why does it matter to you?
