Im undecided. The only religion (which is more of a philosophy) i have had any serious thoughts to is Buddhism what kind of buddhism and why? and how much have you looked into it? and I haven't read this entire thread yet, so if someone else asked this and you answer, sorry. I'll finish reading later. must go.

Existentialist Athiesm. Not a religion per se, but anywho... Existentianialism. now theres something I've never been able to understand fully.....still trying to work it all out in my head.....I forget how it works though. is it that nothing exists or that only I exist and everything else is just from my mind?

Well, if its only one of those two choices, then either way it is really really retarded.

existenialism is all about man's emotions. its all about not following society "herd morality" and finding out what you feel is right and setting up your own rules "master morality" it was a reaction against people trying to classify man as they would any other creature, an example of which is Plato stated that Man was a "featherless biped" as a reaction to this a student of his tossed a plucked chicken over the unversity wall with a sign that said "Plato's man" we learned about it in Theology.
i think thats what are notes say about it, haven't looked at them in a while though i should, exsam next week

Well, if its only one of those two choices, then either way it is really really retarded. well that was a quick judgment. I used to think that existantianialism is stupid and obviously wrong, but then I got in a fight with one and for the life of me, I could not argue anything because all statements are subjective. couldn't sleep well for a week after that. still trying to prove it wrong, but it's a lot more complicated than most would think. I have to work out absolute truth first, then work my way up to subjective realities then go to existantanialism.....I think. Joe Lies, that may be a part of it, but I'm sure it has something to do with what really exists and what doesn't.....unless I'm getting terms mixed up....

Well, thats not saying much, since you seem to have a hard time with any debate.. maybe its your alleged politeness.
Subjective statements arent much of anything. REality is objective, everyone should know that. Laws of reality exist outside human wants, emotions, needs, etc. no matter how much some individuals would want it otherwise. No matter how much I want to be able to grow wings and fly away, its just not gonna happen. No matter how much I want to be able to live underwater, its not gonna happen.
Saying that nothing exists is a contradiction in and of itself. If nothing exists, then how the hell are you trying to prove the idea to me that nothing exists, especially if neither you, I, language, or ideas exist?
See, not that hard.

you would think so.... hmm...I'm not good at this and probably am not going about it the right way, but how can you say your reality is all reality? it can't even be proven that the colors you see are the same that I see. all we know is that we have both been taugh that a certain color (whatever it may look like to either of us) is called red. so how can you claim that there is only one reality that we both live in? after that is established (or more correctly, put into question), I think it can be taken to the level of what is real and what isn't. are you real or just a figment of my imagination?

look, I'm answering you everywhere else, but I would like to be in at least one thread without being viciously attacked on the same points as everywhere else.
and don't use the word tolerance. that word has been gastly misused in the times past and it's lost all meaning. I am tolerant, but I am not a door mat.

I am tolerant, but I am not a door mat. so lets see you say you are tolerant, so you want to preach to her because she believes what she does. why couldn't you leave it at that, instead of saying its hard to grasp you believe in that, thats her choice to decide not yours.

I'm saying that I'm curious and want to know about existiantanialism. am I not alowed to do that? am I not allowed to ask anything about anyone elses views?? this is ludicrous! what am I supposed to do? just sit here and take your critisizms.? HAH! theres something seriously wrong here.
