first reaction: dumbstruck.
second reaction: mentally preparing answer to inevitable question about this the next time he is interviewed.

Exactly, reminds me of one of those crazy televangelists... it was really disappointing... kinda wish I hadn't read Billy's thoughts on a personal level... I should have just left it to listening to the music.

I just have to not let the new billy ruin the smashing pumpkins.... I wonder how james feels.. He's probably very dissapointed in Billy.

I'm glad I never had much of an idol image of Billy. I only really cared about his music. I haven't been disappointed in him for his posts. I don't enjoy a lot of them, since I don't care about his cats, but it hasn't made me lose any respect for him. Only shitty songs will do that.

I just read it today, and to me it just seems like billy lost control after the pumpkins broke up, and he's desperately trying to grab hold of something. His talk about God and how grateful he is sounds cheesy and i really don't see what he gets out of telling us this other than making him sound like he's hiding something. It just seems like he's trying to cover something that happened up. like he's trying to redeem himself from something...i just can't figure out what.

Someone that smart shouldn't sound as dumb as he makes himself seem now... he sounds like Billy Graham or Pat Robertson, and it just kind of sours the entire experience I've known from the Pumpkins.

I wonder how james feels.. He's probably very dissapointed in Billy. I just feel that my idol changed.... and am trying to um stick the whole thing out. Whatever reason he has to grasp onto his spirituality the way he has is his business... and i think he might need to be like this for awhile to get through the hard times. Or maybe even forever... Just as we preached Pumpkin in a way... Everyone finds different things to hold onto and believe in... and what matters is that it works for him.. Even if it's a little embarrassing for us sometimes since we identify with him so strongly, its natural for us to be feeling "wtf". But... i think it will pass, at least the amount of talking he does about it. He's probably just new again in spirituality and is taking a bit of a journey. And he wants to share it with us... cause i think he feels we understand him on a personal level through his music and how we connected to it... We are like his soul mates in a sense to him i think.... cause we all connected on similar emotional wavelengths...

It just seems like he's trying to cover something that happened up. like he's trying to redeem himself from something...i just can't figure out what. His entire life, his dreams, his failures, his traumas, dramas, and long lost friends, family, and loves probably caught up with him after the break up. And when Zwan ended up failing out too, i think he got really hurt... You know? He had a crazy life.. sometimes he has been the bad guy... sometimes he was made to feel like the bad guy... the criticism, the backstabbing, the BS, and his intentions deep down where mostly for the better, and maybe he feels guilty for the times they where not. But that wasn't his core self when he started to get like that... It's the BS that is around us, we all get confused and jaded on and off.. but thats not the point. I don't think it was just one thing.. it was probably a ton of things. And when people have times of crisis they usually look to something to believe in to pull them through... Cause if there is no hope for the future it's hard to go on. He was raised Catholic, and when your older i think it's easier sometimes to go back to the beginnings... what your parents comforted you with, and what worked when you where a kid. He needs us not to let him down right now.. even if he is scarring us with the devout christianity.
