Corgan dumps solo plans, citing Billy Corgan as “impossible to deal with”
In a tragically easily foreseen event, veteran alt-rocker Billy Corgan, formerly of the multi-platinum “Smashing Pumpkins” and the insidious disappointment and flop, “the Marked”, and also a less known band “Zwan” issued a statement early this morning on his daily Cubs/sports spot on Chicago’s WXRT (93.1 FM). He addressed questions regarding the month and a half long lack of updates on his personal weblog, (which has previously riled up allot of controversy over negative comments made about former band mates from both the Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan) by stating that he has had to discontinue his current solo project, citing creative indifference with band mate and known studio dictator Billy Corgan.
“Billy and I have been working together in studio for nearly 6 months now, but due to so many in studio and out of studio pressures, Billy became a drug addled control freak. At some points his in studio narcissism and unrelenting will to dominate became so severe that I could swear he was going insane” notes a flustered Corgan, “the veins on his big bald head were more inflated then his ego, at one point he kicked everyone out of the studio, including the tech and myself and insisted that he play every instrument himself. Which was impossible, because neither he nor the tech were in the studio, because we were both outside”.
Corgan has since contacted me over the phone stating that he found Corgan to be “a terrible musician, a mean hearted drug addict and plain old immoral… that and he was a fuckin Jesus freak with delusions of grandeur and a Yoko-esque psychic friend pacing behind him al the time”. When asked what his future plans might be Corgan replied “I’m planning to build a machine to write and play my music for me so I don’t have to deal with myself, either that or abandon all my worldly possession and shave my head even more, travel into the wilderness and emerge several years later as an entity that is not myself, so I can best record and perform properly without getting in a fight with myself or anyone else”.
